 Like an etching into the topography, the shape and earth colour of the structure fit so easily into the green surrounding landscape that the neighbouring gable roofs appear like the aliens of the scenery.
.jpg) The complete transparency of the outer casing and the interior spatial configurations let the landscape melt into the building. Views in all directions make the stages of wine cultivation, from grape to finished wine, artistically visible. The center of the structure is a veritable “oak barrel show room” from where one’s gaze can glide over the gentle curves of the barrels into the vineyard, to lose itself in the trees. Semi- transparent sun screens lend an oriental, mystical atmosphere to the space.
Glass, a reddish- brown colour scheme, and roughly structured particle board dominate the space. For the interior design, the vintner prefers wood to concrete and metal. The material’s vivacity fits his personality and is important for the well being of his costumers, he says.
A table for 30 guests is further testimony to the importance of direct sale on the premise, the winery’s main business. |
