ANNOTATIONS

The construction was beginning after a legacy by cavalier David Levi, already Council President of the Jewish University.
The first stone (coming from Gerusalemme) was placed the 30 june 1874 and the temple was inaugurated 24 October 1882. It's one of the little examples of Moorish architecture in Italy; the plant of the church is inspired to the church of Saint Sofia in Costantinopoli, while the Moorish motif of fresco are inspired to the Sinagoga of the Transit of Toledo.
