The Hollywood Bowl fu stato costruito nel 1922-1929 da Allied Architects e Frank Lloyd Wright jr..
L'anfiteatro è stato ristrutturato da Frank O. Gehry con un intervento in 6 fasi.
Prima fase, 1976 - Risistemazione dei servizi di retroscena, degli uffici amministrativi e delle cabine di controllo.
Seconda fase, non realizzata, 1978.
Terza fase, 1980 - Sistemazione acustica permanente della copertura dell’orchestra Materiali: sfere di fiberglass.
Quarta fase, 1981- Parcheggio su due livelli
Quinta fase, 1982 - Ristrutturazione dei servizi
Sesta fase, 1982 - Ristorante all’aperto
Nel 2004 sono stati effettuati nuovi interventi ad opera di Architects Hodgetts + Fung Design Associates e Executive Architects Gruen Associates. |
