| Dopo che la città di Lille si è venuta a trovare come punto d'incrocio delle linee ferroviarie di collegamento veloce fra Parigi, Londra, Bruxelles, Amsterdam, Colonia, si è decisa la costruzione di una nuova stazione in un'area di circa 70 ettari, di proprietà dell'esercito francese, con intorno un intero nuovo quartiere (Euralille), caratterizzato da un centro internaazionale di affari e completato da centri commerciali, alloggi, uffici, scuole, luoghi di intrattenimento, parchi, ecc.. |
